Domestic Support in Carlisle — A Clean, Comfortable Home You Can Be Proud Of
A well-kept home matters — for health, for dignity, and for peace of mind. Our carers handle housekeeping, laundry, and home management tasks so you can focus on what matters most to you, in a home that feels cared for.

Is This Right for You?
Who Our Domestic Support Service Helps
Domestic support is appropriate whenever household tasks have become physically challenging, unsafe, or simply too much — whether that is a recent development or a gradual change over time.
Older Adults Living at Home
Older people who are finding tasks like vacuuming, laundry, or bed changing physically difficult — and who want to maintain a clean, comfortable home without having to rely on family for every household chore.
Post-Surgery or Illness Recovery
People recovering at home from surgery, illness, or a hospital stay — who are not yet physically able to manage domestic tasks safely and need reliable support while they regain their strength.
Reduced Mobility or Strength
Individuals living with a condition that limits their physical capability — such as arthritis, COPD, Parkinson's, or stroke effects — where household tasks have become unsafe or exhausting.
Families Wanting Reassurance
Family members who live at a distance or are unable to visit regularly, who need the reassurance of knowing their loved one's home is well maintained, clean, and safe to live in.
Why It Matters
The Connection Between a Clean Home and Good Wellbeing
A well-kept home is about far more than appearances. It is about safety, health, dignity, and the ability to live comfortably and confidently in your own space.
Reduced Infection Risk
Regular cleaning of surfaces, bathrooms, and kitchens significantly reduces the risk of infection — particularly important for older adults and those with compromised immunity.
Mental Wellbeing
A clean, organised home has a measurable positive effect on mood, anxiety, and general mental wellbeing. Clutter and disorder can increase stress and a sense of losing control.
Safer to Move Around
Clear, clean floors and tidy spaces reduce the risk of trips and falls — one of the most significant hazards for older adults living at home.
Dignity and Pride
Living in a home that is clean and cared for supports a sense of dignity and self-worth. It matters to most people — and it matters to us that it is maintained.
What We Do
The Domestic Tasks Our Carers Handle
Cleaning & Housekeeping
Thorough but respectful cleaning carried out in the way the client prefers — including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, surface wiping, mirror and window cleaning, bathroom and toilet cleaning, and kitchen hygiene. We follow the client's preferred order and standard, every visit.
Laundry & Linen Care
Collecting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing laundry to the individual's preferred standard — as well as changing bed linen regularly, ensuring clean and comfortable sleeping. We handle garments with care and always return clothes stored exactly as the client prefers.
Home Organisation & Errands
Client-directed tidying, light decluttering, managing bins and household waste, and assisting with post, correspondence, and day-to-day home management tasks. We also provide escort support for appointments and social activities where needed.

What We Provide
What Is Included in Domestic Support

Escort to appointments or shops — Accompanying the client to appointments or social activities as part of the visit.
How It Works
What Happens During a Domestic Support Visit
Every visit is consistent, thorough, and carried out exactly as the client prefers — with no rushing, no guessing, and no cutting corners.
Arrival and Check-In
The carer arrives at the agreed time, greets the client warmly, and briefly checks in on how they are feeling before beginning. The client's priorities for that visit are confirmed — always following their lead.
Tasks Completed Systematically
The carer works through the agreed tasks in the client's preferred order, to the standard the client expects. Nothing is rushed. Cleaning products the client prefers are used, and the home is left exactly as they like it.
Laundry and Linen Managed
Laundry is collected, washed, dried, ironed, folded, and put away. Bed linen is changed on the agreed schedule. Clean clothes are returned to the correct drawers and wardrobe exactly where the client expects to find them.
Tidy Departure and Communication
Before leaving, the carer does a final check to ensure everything is in order, makes a note of anything the family or care coordinator should be aware of, and says a warm goodbye — leaving the home fresh, clean, and comfortable.
“The relief has been enormous. Dad was struggling to keep the house clean and we could not visit enough to help. Now his home is immaculate every week, he has his pride back, and we feel so much less worried. The carer is always the same person and always does things just the way Dad likes them.”
