Why Work With Us

Three Reasons People Choose a Career at Carlisle Care

💜

Work That Genuinely Matters

Every visit you make changes someone's day. In care, the work is not abstract — you see the direct, human impact of what you do, with every person you support, every single shift. Very few careers offer that.

🤝

A Team That Looks After You

We invest in supervision, regular check-ins, and a culture where asking for help is encouraged rather than avoided. You will never be left to figure things out alone — your team and your care coordinator are always available.

📈

A Role That Can Grow With You

Whether you are just starting out or building on years of experience, Carlisle Care supports your development — from Care Certificate training through to specialist qualifications in dementia, palliative care, and mental health.

Who We're Looking For

You Do Not Need Experience — You Need the Right Values

The most important thing we look for in a Carlisle Care carer is not a qualification or a CV — it is character. We can teach care skills. We cannot teach warmth, patience, reliability, and genuine compassion. Those are the qualities that make someone exceptional in this role — and they are what we look for first.

Many of our best carers came to us with no previous care experience. What they had was the right attitude, a genuine desire to help people, and the willingness to learn and be supported. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Warmth and CompassionGenuinely caring about the wellbeing of the people you support — treating them with kindness, patience, and respect in every interaction.
Reliability and PunctualityTurning up when you say you will, every time. The people we care for depend on us — reliability is not optional, it is fundamental.
Dignity and RespectTreating every person as an individual — following their preferences, respecting their space, and never making them feel like a task to complete.
Honesty and IntegrityCommunicating openly with colleagues, coordinators, and families — and raising concerns when something does not feel right.
AdaptabilityUnderstanding that every visit is different — and being able to adjust calmly and professionally when things do not go to plan.
A Genuine Team PlayerSupporting colleagues, sharing information, and contributing to a positive team culture — care is a team sport, even when you are working independently.

Our Culture

What It Is Actually Like to Work at Carlisle Care

We are a small, close-knit team — and that is a deliberate choice. We believe that smaller teams deliver better care, because every carer is known, every client is known, and nothing falls through the gaps. When you join Carlisle Care, you are not a number on a rota. You are a valued member of a team where your work is seen, your concerns are heard, and your progress matters.

We are direct, honest, and supportive. We set clear expectations and we meet them — on both sides. We ask a great deal of our carers because the people we support deserve the best, and we give a great deal back in return: good pay, real flexibility, genuine development opportunities, and a team that has your back.

🗣️

You Are Heard

Regular supervision, open-door access to your coordinator, and team meetings where your voice matters. We listen to what carers tell us — and we act on it.

🏆

Your Work Is Recognised

We notice great work and we say so. Long service, exceptional care, and going above and beyond are recognised formally and informally — because recognition matters.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑

A Team That Supports Each Other

Care can be emotionally demanding. We build a team culture where asking for support is normal, peer connection is encouraged, and no one carries difficult moments alone.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“I joined Carlisle Care with no care experience at all — just a feeling that I wanted to do something that mattered. Three years on, I have my Care Certificate, I have completed dementia specialist training, and I genuinely love what I do. The support has been incredible from day one.”
